Three ways to vote

Advance voting

Wednesday, October 7 or Saturday, October 10, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Whistler Public Library. Same ballot, shorter line.

General Voting Day

Saturday, October 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Myrtle Philip Community School. Bring ID. If you haven’t voted in Whistler before, bring two pieces — one with your signature — and you can register when you arrive.

Vote by mail

Apply by 4 p.m. on October 13; packages go out from October 1. Return your completed package to Municipal Hall by 8 p.m. on October 17. Once a package has been issued to you, you cannot be given another ballot at advance voting — bring the whole package with you if you decide to vote in person instead.

Who can vote

Resident electors

  • 18 years of age or older on General Voting Day
  • Canadian citizen
  • Resident of British Columbia for at least six months
  • Resident of the Resort Municipality of Whistler
  • Not disqualified from voting by law

Non-resident property electors

If you own registered real property in Whistler (for at least 30 days before you register) but live elsewhere, you may be able to vote too. You vote once, even if you own more than one property; where a property has several owners, only one of them can vote for it, with the written consent of the majority. Register with the RMOW package below.

Not on the voters list? You can still register in person on General Voting Day — bring two pieces of ID, one with a signature (for example a BC Driver’s Licence, passport, lease or utility bill).

Ivan Otto on the ballot

You will vote for up to six Councillors. I am asking for one of those six votes — for housing, transportation and wildfire resilience, for the people who make Whistler work.
